Ever lack motivation? Or be motivated by something then life hit you and you learn what really motivates you?
I did! Now I “know my why“! And this is all I need to Always Be Progressing.
If you would have asked me in my 20s and early 30s what motivates me, I would have said money!
However, now after some tough life lessons, I’m not motivated by money.
Don’t take it the wrong way. I mean I like things money can offer but my motivation has changed.
It all changed once I got divorced and could no longer see my daughter every day.
Now everything I do is powered by the motivation of being able to maximize my time with my daughter when I have her.
KNOW YOUR WHY
I used to sell cars working 10-12 hours days, 5-6 days a week, sometimes 7 which means working weekends and holidays.
The money was good but I couldn’t even imagine getting back to that lifestyle and missing out on any more of my daughter’s life.
This is where I draw a line and have to say money isn’t everything.
In fact, with that said, 2 years ago I decided to make some sacrifices.
But the sacrifices I’ve made have made me more aware of what’s important.
Being there in my daughter’s life is the most important.
I went from selling cars to driving a car for hours delivering DoorDash, GrubHub, and UberEATS.
The best part about this is the freedom. I have the flexibility to spend time with my daughter and can even take her with me.
Splitting custody of your kid isn’t an ideal situation and no one gets married with that being the end goal in mind but it happens.
It’s funny, that things with money have been tighter with the choice to do the work I’m doing now but I haven’t been happier.
It’s all because I am focused on what motivates me most.
Better Yet, it’s because I KNOW MY WHY!
This little girl my “Mini Me” is my why and the motivation I need.
Focus on what motivates you, “Know Your Why” and let it push you to be the best you.
FINAL THOUGHTS
ALWAYS BE PROGRESSING!! I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face.
Don’t let anyone, anything, or any situation stop you from being the best you.
You have GREATNESS in you.
A divorce can’t take it from you and neither can a cheating spouse.
I had to figure that out.
Allow it to come out.
As always…
Be Great! Be You!
RISE & CLAW above it
And…
A.B.P. ALWAYS BE PROGRESSING!
