6 Best Diets To Try After Divorce
A divorce just like any other break up leaves people looking for answers.
If you don’t get the answer, guess what you start to question things about yourself.
Those questions lead to loss of confidence.
This can range from the feelings of believing that you are unlovable to feeling like you are just not good enough.
Many people feel like they need to reinvent themselves. One specific way they feel that they should reinvent themself is through changing or improving their look.
I recently started intermittent fasting about a month and a half ago and I am actually surprised at how much weight I have lost during the time.
The bigger surprise is how I’ve done it without consistently eating healthy.
This got me thinking about how many people struggle with:
- Weight gain after divorce
- Increased weight during a stressful marriage that ends in divorce
Now I know a lot of people lose weight when they are going through a divorce (I fell in this category) they call it the divorce diet but I put it back on and more.
So whoever feels that they want or need to lose a few pounds to help with regaining your self-confidence but need an idea of which diet to try.
Below is a list of diets as well as where you can find more information.
6 Best Diets To Try After Divorce
1. Intermittent Fasting
Since this is the one I am currently doing I figured this would be a good place to start.
What got me started was an app on my phone called Fastic.
The app is available on Apple and Android devices.
Here is the link to the Fastic Website.
The website includes blog articles about intermittent fasting and tips on how to succeed with intermittent fasting.
In the app it allows you to:
- Track Your Weight
- Set Fasting Times with Notifications/Reminders
- Nutrition Plans
- Success Stories
- Water Tracker
2. Keto Diet
The Keto diet short for Ketogenic diet is another trending diet. I have not tried this one personally but several friends and family have tried it and have had some success.
The Keto diet is a low carb, high-fat diet and is said to have many health benefits.

3. Paleo Diet
A diet based on eating habits during the Paleolithic period aka Stone Age or as most people can remember it as the Hunter-Gatherer time.
This means you are going to eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, lean meats, fish, eggs, seeds, and nuts.
Here is the website dedicated to the Paleo Diet and here is a site for Paleo Diet recipes.
4. Smoothie Diet
I’ve tried the smoothie diet but it’s probably not what you are thinking.
Drinking Jamba Juice, Smoothie King, or if you like Piña Coladas (especially if you like alcohol in yours) isn’t a recommended diet.
However, there are good smoothie diet plans out there.
You can get more information about the Smoothie diet (affiliate link) here.
5. Jenny Craig
These next two I’m covering for two reasons familiarity and social proof.
Who doesn’t know the brand name Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers?
Jenny Craig is a popular meal plan program that is delivered to you.
See the site for information.
6. Weight Watchers
The #1 Doctor recommended and most popular weight loss program.
Weight Watchers is a weight loss program based on a point system.

Final thoughts
There are the 6 best diets to try after divorce.
I’m sure I missed some but these are the ones that are the most popular with the people that I know.
I want to stress that I am not a personal trainer or doctor and that before you try a diet you should contact your doctor especially if you have any health conditions.
Also remember, your weight isn’t a direct implication of who you are.
And body image isn’t an automatic link to high self-confidence.
Make sure you are working on you mentally as well as physically so you can be confident inside and out.
Be you. Be great!
Until next time.
